The MountainLoop Verdict

A playful, versatile freeride ski for confident skiers who want float and fun without giving up all-mountain capability. The Sir Francis Bacon pairs a wide 107mm waist with 3D Convex tip and tail shaping, letting it plane effortlessly through soft snow while still holding its own on firmer, chopped-up snow. A Partly Cloudy wood core (maple and paulownia) keeps things light and responsive, while full sidewall construction adds stability and smooths out vibrations when the terrain gets rough.

Paired with the Tyrolia Attack 13 binding - a robust, high-DIN all-mountain option - this is a genuine powder-day setup for skiers who want a lively, forgiving ride that's just as happy carving on-piste as it is exploring off-piste.

Ski Condition

Used condition, with some genuine signs of wear. The topsheet shows cosmetic scuffing, and there's minor tail delamination that has been professionally repaired [and function-tested / and visually inspected — confirm which] - the ski structure is sound for continued use. Bases and edges show wear consistent with regular use, and the bindings are structurally sound with some cosmetic wear from age. Still plenty of ski left to give, but this one's priced and described as a well-used pair rather than like-new.

Our Promise

Every pair of skis and bindings we sell is carefully inspected before listing — we check bases, edges, topsheets, and binding function, and note any wear honestly and specifically in each listing rather than leaving surprises. We only sell equipment we'd be happy to ski on ourselves.

That said, all skis are second-hand, and normal skiing carries inherent risk. We'd always recommend having bindings checked and re-calibrated by a certified technician before first use, in line with standard practice for any second-hand ski equipment.

Shipping & Returns

We process and ship all orders promptly, so your skis are on their way as quickly as possible.
